In January this year the club celebrated its 70th Charter Anniversary with a meal at Quorn Country Hotel. One hundred and thirty five members and guests attended from all over the country including seventy representative clubs and fifteen past members. An Anniversary cake was made by the President Lesley Brewer and decorated by a member of our club. A very memorable occasion.
Our club was also delighted to arrange a surprise traditional afternoon tea in June to clelebrate member Eileen Bates-Walters’ fifty years of service to Inner Wheel, wearing hats and gloves to recreate the club as it was in 1958 when Eileen first became a member. A further surprise for her was to receive a Paul Harris award from the Loughborough Rotary club.
