Stamford

The Inner Wheel Club of Stamford meet at the George Hotel, Stamford at 7pm on the first Monday of each month with the exception of August. The Club received its Charter in 1953 and currently has 35 members.

The historical town of Stamford contains many elegant medieval and Georgian buildings and in 1967 was declared the first Conservation Area in the country. Its charter dates from 1462 when Edward IV (Lord of Stamford) visited the town.

7^th September	‘Putting the House to Bed’ – shutting a property up at the end of the season. Mrs Brenda Harper – National Trust Speaker
5^th October	‘The Nightingale Trust’- an organisation supporting people with Eating Disorders. Speakers are Pamela Harris and Carol Cook. Jewellery on sale in aid of the trust. We are treating this as a Scatter Night and have invited members of IW Club of Stamford Burghley.
2^nd November	Visit from District Chairman – Janice Quinn
14^th November	Quiz Night on a theme yet to be revealed! Hosted by David and Fiona Brown - Rotarian
23^rd November	Xmas outing to Thursford, Norfolk. 10:00-21:00. Full day out including the well known Xmas Show. In lieu of a Xmas club meeting.

4^th January	‘Rotary Life Caravan’ Speaker Rtn David Brown. This project visits schools to help educate children to respect their bodies and who/what they are.
9^th January	Walk in Bourne Woods – this is being arranged by the IW Club of Bourne and will probably be a fundraiser for the Association President’s Charity ‘Children with Leukaemia’.
1^st February	‘Biggles – A Very English Hero’. Speaker Mrs May Lloyd.
