The first club in District 7 was formed in Kettering in 1935 and the inaugural meeting of the District was held on 1938.  The number of clubs being chartered in the District continued to grow and in 1961 it was agreed to divide the clubs into Zones.  By 1972 the number of clubs in District 7 had again increased and covered a wide geographical area.  It was therefore decided to split it into two, with 25 Clubs remaining in District 7 and 30 Clubs becoming the new District 22.

There are now 46 clubs in District 7 divided into four zones.  The next District meeting will be at the Diamond Centre at Irthlingborough on Thursday 1 November 2007..

To commemorate the Millennium a banner was made with each club contributing an embroidered square about their home town.  The banner is displayed at meetings and has been made into a book (price £2.50) and notelets (price £2.00).
