The Inner Wheel Club of Thrapston and Raunds meet the third Wednesday of the month (except August) at The Dukes Arms, Woodford at 7.15 for 7.30pm. The Club currently has 23 members and was chartered in 1987.

Thrapston is a thriving market town and was granted a Street Market Charter by King John in 1205. The River Nene flows through the town under the Nine Arches Bridge and feeds a lake which is used for sailing and boating. Raunds is the neighbouring town with a picturesque church and is associated with the shoe and leather industry.

The Occasion:   Inner Wheel Day 10th January 2007

Bring and Buy a Book evening at the home of Club Correspondent Terri Riddle.  Great fun was had swapping books and we also had a paper auction for "coffee table" style books where the highest bidder (on paper) bought the book in question.  A finger buffet was provided by members each bringing a plate of something.  Inner Wheel members, husbands and friends were invited and although the emphasis was on having fun £326 was raised as well!

Rotarian Mike Sharland finished off the evening by telling us how a book is turned into a film which proved to be a very interesting subject which kept everybody spellbound (and quiet for a change!)
